Summer at La Jolla Cove

I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session at La Jolla Cove today with Danielle & Terry! I knew they were going to be a fun couple because they brought along some bocce balls as props & were willing to get a little wet.

A little. Yeah, nice try. Here's a sneak peak of some of my favs! It was really really hard to choose my favorites from this session...there were so many!

So here's the scariest/funniest/craziest moment of any of my shoots ever. Note the progression between these four photographs, taken only seconds apart. I love the last photo. In my opinion, it made it completely worth it.
Aaaand since they were already soaked, it paved the way for some more awesome photos. Like this one:
All in all, a fantastic session!!

Long time no see!

Yes, yes. I suck at blogging. I spend nearly 10 hours a day editing photos, emailing clients, & advertising online but I can't for the life of me keep up with my blog!

So before we get to recent sessions, I'll keep you updated on some new stuff going on around here. First of all, and most exciting, Chasing Daylight Photography is on Yelp.com! Yep, feel free to visit my yelp site here: Chasing Daylight Photography's Yelp Site! I'm proud to say I'm currently rated 5 stars, but I only have 4 reviews, so be sure to get your honest review in ASAP if you're a former client!!

Secondly, we're on Facebook now too! You can check that out here: Our Facebook.
Be sure to click the "become a fan" button on the left-hand side for special deals, coupons, & contests!

Now, on to the sessions!

Ok I'll be honest. I saw these two little girls at the Del Mar Fair when my friends & I were watching Foghat sing "Slow Ride," haha. They were so freaking adorable (I fell in love with the older one's curls) that I couldn't help but give my business card to their parents. I was SO happy when they emailed me and were interested in a session! The family was super nice, and once the girls warmed up to me, very easy to get adorable photos!

I'm always up for expanding my horizons, so I tried out pet photography for the first time! A good friend of mine is moving & has to split her doggies up between herself & her sister. I've known these doggies for a long time so I'll miss them, but I'm glad I got some good photos before they leave! Meet Annie & Gabby:

I had a really awesome engagement session with Casey & Shane. These two have been friends since middle school & this first photo is really fun because we recreated a photo they took together in middle school. Definitely a fun session!!

I took some photos for my boyfriend's cousin of her & her two kids at Balboa Park. June has been turning into the friends & family month! I love it! This shoot was fun & relaxed, and I got some great candids of the kids! :D

I also did a maternity session with a good friend's sister in La Jolla. She's beautiful! Over 7 months pregnant and barely showing. I had a lot of fun with them down at the beach. I can't wait to take baby Isaiah's newborn photos!!

I took these photos of Jessi & Dave at the beach for their engagement session. They were such a nice couple! They brought their beach cruisers down for the first part of it, which made it extra fun & showcased their personalities. We also shot a bit at Belmont Park which was neat too! A great session!

Well, that's all for now! Keep checking back every month or so for a new blog. Hopefully I'll get better at keeping up. Have a good day and a great summer!
